Does a removable pool fence need to lock into the ground?

At first glace, it makes sense that pool fencing need to be locked into the ground or pool deck. However once a parent understands the principles that allow removable swimming pool barriers to work so well in protecting children, they quickly understand why deck locking devices don’t provided additional swimming safety and can even make removing pool fences that much harder.

Inland Empire Pool GuardMesh removable pool barriers are made from one of two meshes textoline and Interlock fabrics. Both are very strong long lasting and safe for your child. Pool Guard sells both fabrics. The mesh is connected to poles at 30 inches or 36 inches apart making section from 3 to 15 feet long. Each section is then hooked together to form a child safe barrier. The fence is made of high strength and light weight materials but that is only half of why removable-fences are so great.   It is the tension that makes the removable pool fence strong and able to protect your child. Once holes are drilled into the concrete decking the fence can the gain strength from the deck. Note that it is so important to have a fences installed by a seasoned installer of poolfences. Once the high strength fence sections are placed into the concrete deck then the fence is hooked together. Once it is hooked together the barrier is pulled tight through tension. It is the tension that pulls the fence so tight that it can not be pulled up out of the ground. No child’s strength will be able to counter the tension of a properly installed poolfence. Every an adult could only have the strength to pull the pool fence pole out of the ground a inch or so. Once a parent understands would a pool fence works then it is easy to realize that mesh pool fencing doesn’t need to be locked into the ground.

There is actually a short coming to locking pole into the ground. After a while sand and dirt can fall into the holes that have been drilled in to the ground and fill space between the pole and the sleeve. When this happens pool fence poles and gate can be harder to remove from the hole. If a pole is locked into place then you have less ability to turn and twist the pole out of the  ground. In short not only is it harder to remove but many customers twist and break removable poles that have been locked into the ground. An un fortunate side affect of locking poles that aren’t even needed in the first place.
